For Stata Users

Over the years we have noticed that we have a rather large and engaged group of users of the dataset that also use Stata software. We hope this page will further encourage these users and make working with the QoG datasets in Stata even easier.

Stata Command: qoguse / qogmerge

Christoph Thewes, University of Potsdam, has written the qoguse and qogmerge commands which allows you to load the latest version of the different datasets with a simple line of code or merge your in-use data with the latest version of any one of the QoG datasets.

To install these commands simply run the following code in Stata:

ssc install qog

For further guidance on the use of the commands:

help qoguse

help qogmerge

Stata Command: qogbook

Another QoG-specific Stata command automatically opens the correct version of the codebook in your default web browser when using QoG data.

To install the command simply run the following code in Stata:

ssc install qogbook
