The majority of our research projects during the period 2007-2015 were part of the research program "The Quality of Government Institute" which started in 2007 and was funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond. The thematic focus for this research programme was the importance of Quality of Government (QoG) institutions for economic, social, as well as human development. March 1st, 2012 was the formal start date for a new comprehensive research project which goes under the acronym ANTICORRP (Anti- Corruption Policies Revisited: Global Trends and European Responses to the Challenge of Corruption). The project is funded by the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme and consists in total of 21 research groups in 16 European countries. The QoG Institute is leading this project and is also the single largest research group in the project.
PERDEM - “The Performance of Democracies" is a new large scale research project within the QoG Institute. The project is financed by an Advanced Research Grant from the European Research Council to Professor Bo Rothstein. The main objective of this project is to analyze the relation between how democracies are organized and how they perform in generating human well-being, curb corruption and handle the public finances. This project started in 2014 and last for five years.
